Rimu house challenge,Rimu tree



Research Rimu:

  • where do you find it? 
  • Why is it important to Māori?
  • What uses does it have? 
  • Why is Rimu the best tree in the school?
Where do you find it?:
Rimu trees are only found in New Zealand, they are spread throughout the country from northland through to Stewart island.


Why is it important to Māori?:
One of the reasons rimu is important to Māori is because in the old days they used it’s inner bark as a medical treatment for cuts and burns. Also they used the bitter gum to stop bleeding and the leafs of the Rimu were used on sores. 


What uses does it have?:
There are lots of uses for rimu some of them are made into timber because it is very strong and is very popular in older houses. The Māori’s


Why is Rimu the best tree in
the school?:
 I think that Rimu is the best tree in the school because it is a canopy tree and it towers over all the rest of trees. It has strong wood and is made for a lot of things and is a very trusted wood.

My holiday at Wanganui

 I went to Wanganui for a holiday with my friends and on the way I took Photos.It was a five hour trip.I had lots of fun and did lots of things like....
play on playgrounds , swing on flying foxes across rivers , fly kites and make really big huts on the beach! It was so fun going to Wanganui and getting to go on the coolest parks!!!
