Subordinating conjunctions

Even though Hamilton has the highest rain fill it still reaches 24 degrees.

Napier's lowest temperature reaches 5 degrees in June, where as Alexandra reaches -2 degrees in June and July.

Christchurch had it's warmest month in January with 23 degrees were as in July it was was at it's lowest at 12 degrees

Unless Alexandra reaches over -2 degrees in June and July it will stay the coldest months for a while.

The city's that are higher up in the country are more warmer because it is father way from Antarctica

Interruptions in the classroom

What kind of interruptions occur?
  • Phone calls
  • People from the student office
  • People from the sports office
  • Messengers
  • Dental nurse
  • Internet down
  • Intercom

How does this affect us?
  • We stop working
  • We start talking
  • Yelling for Miss Campbell
  • Arguing over who is going to get the phone
  • When the internet is down we get off task and cant't do anything

Come up with several possible solutions for this problem.
  • We could put a sign on the door saying "Gone fishing."
  • We should have one person that receives all the notes instead of everyone yelling, and that person could pass the note to who ever needs to go to.
  • Have one person who answers the phone
  • We could have a mail box and one person could collect all letters and pass them to were they are needed
  • When the internet is down have someone who creates a educational game

Social Experiment

Clarify and predict the title of the video we will watch today: Social Experiment

The word "social" means to be around others and interact with them and the word "experiment" means to do tests so therefore I think that this movie is about someone going around and testing a social group and to make a chart of all their results. I think all of this because from the title "Social Experiment" all of it just relates and makes me think that it could be about people getting tested.

Write up this video using the Science Process.
Aim: To find out how people react to a anonymous person giving them a compliment or a insult.

Hypothesis: I think that people would get upset with the words they are hearing and maybe 50% of the people will just walk away but the other half will stay and listen.

Equipment:
You will need a speaker
pre voice recordings or micro phone hooked up to the speaker

Method:
Step one: Place a speaker in the middle of the street.
Step two: Have a pre recording linked into the speaker or have a micro phone hooked up to speak into it.
Step three: Wait till people walk past and give them and insult or a compliment
Step four: Wait and see what their reaction is.
Step five: Do this for about half an our

Results (make these up)
The people that were given an insult were unhappy and 50% of them walked away but the other 50 stayed and listen to what he had to say.
But when the group of people got given a complement they were happy and new that there were people in the world that could brighten up their day

Conclusion
Overall it doesn't matter what people say if there are people in the world that put you down just walk away and don't listen but always remember that there will be people in the world that are there to cheer you up when you're feeling down.

Scam letter

Summarise who this letter is from, who it is to, and what it is about.

This letter is from a girl called Emily Park who lost $74,000+ dollars two years ago,
Emily was trying to get her money back so she got help from the F.B.I.

What are 2 reasons you know that this letter is a scam.

There are lots of spelling mistake and if this letter wasn't a scam they would have fixed
And with researching we found out that she is indian, and Philippine and other cultures with other letters that she has sent.

Give 3 pieces of evidence (excerpts of sentences) that prove that this letter is a scam.

please take it very serious.
Here a piece of evidence because they have obviously translated this letter because the english way of saying this would be "please take this very seriously"

This letter is inconsistant and unrealistic with all of the things she is saying.

Describe a scam or prank you have heard about or been subject to.

I have had a scam were people call up and clam that they work for Microsoft saying that there is a virus with our computer when there is nothing wrong with it. Even if you don't have a computer they call up and say you have a problem but how is there a problem with your computer if you don't even have one.
Also if you are on a website they could be add pop ups saying that you have won $$$ money and if you click on it you have to put your details down they then steal your details and send you scam letters.
And when something says that you are the 1millionth winner if you click on it, it can place a virus on your computer.

Here is what a scam may look like if this ever happens to you do NOT put your details down:

Give 5 pieces of advice for people to avoid internet or email based scams.
You can look up advice to avoid scams on the internet.

  • Don't give your email address away to any add pop ups
  • Change your passwords from time to time
  • Get an add blocker
  • Don't believe if its to good to be true
  • If someone calls that you don't know hang up straight away
  • Report if they keep calling
