What does an MPs job entail?
MPs split their time between working in Parliament itself, working in the constituency that elected them and working for their political party.

Mixed Member Proportional

Explain our MMP voting system (Mixed Member Proportional)

MMP is the system we currently use to elect our Parliament.

It is a proportional system, which means that the proportion of votes a party gets will largely reflect the number of seats it has in parliament. Each voter gets two votes.

The first vote is for the political party the voter chooses. This is called the party vote and largely decides the total number of seats each political party gets in Parliament.

The second vote is to choose the MP the voter wants to represent the electorate they live in. This is called the electorate vote. The candidate who gets the most votes wins. They do not have to get more than half the votes.

Under current MMP rules, a political party that wins at least one electorate seat OR 5% of the party vote gets a share of the seats in Parliament that is about the same as its share of the party vote.

Agreements between political parties are usually needed before Governments can be formed.

It has been 8 years nine months and 16 days since I have seen home, I was removed and sent to another country because of my anger issues along my two companions. One Mársilá, quite short and stubby, stupid, bald with no right eye or an arm which he lost while spazzing out, however Continó is quite the opposite. Tall, has a mop full of hair, and a brain like an ant yet no toes which of course he lost spazzing out too. The three of us has caused some serious damage around town, most permanent. So i figured we had to get out of there and take a new track and a new plan.

Making the new passports not real ones obviously, we make them look identical to the real ones but what we didn't realize was that as we are making them we had placed them on the cooking stove which had caused them to melt, however we didn't find that out until we were about to loose. "Mársilá you egg!" I screamed. "How could you do such a thing now were never going to be able to get out of here."

Instead of making new ones we decided that we would steal some, yet we didn't notice that someone was following us .

NEVER GROW OLD

5 years living on this planet Braozoubos trying to find a cure to stay young and never grow old and wrinkly. With me on this mission I have my pet monkey and boyfriend Neville they are both the ones keeping me going. Neville is the shy type he likes to stand on the side of the road watching traffic alone, however my monkey called Frank is one crazy fella.

Even through Neville and Frank are the ones keeping me going my spaceship isn't cause it crashed in the laffy taffy river, all covered in purple stick icky slime. CRACK! a tree completely fell down behind us "AHHHHH," Neville screeched. 

"Calm down Neville." I replied. 

"It's properly just the wind that blew it down ... I think,"

"Okay," Neville mutters.

30 seconds later a big gush of wind blows everything down.

"I have a feeling someones watching us," I say to Neville
